An Economic Update - Winds of Change
Wednesday, June 6 - 12:45 - 2:00 pm

There have been a lot of changes in the US, and the rest of the world, including the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017, talk of immigration reform, burgeoning pressures on commodity prices, and changes in consumer behavior that will impact NFDA members. Alan Beaulieu of ITR Economics will look at numerous leading indicators that will clearly tell us what to expect, and when to expect it. Attendees will be prepared for 2018 and 2019 and should have the confidence to effect tactical changes that will enhance profitability. Topics will include:

  • Policy changes in Washington – what economic impact should we expect?
  • What is happening in the markets served by NFDA members?
  • What kind of pricing pressures are we facing?
  • What is the economic health of the US consumer?
  • What is happening with job growth and wages?
  • What is the future of business-to-business activity?
  • What are the key leading indicators telling us?
  • What are the megatrends we will all have to contend with?
  • Will interest rates keep moving higher?
  • Will those forecasts directly impact your company?

One of the country’s most informed economists, Alan Beaulieu has been delivering award-winning workshops and economic analysis seminars in countries across the world to thousands of business owners and executives for the last 25 years.

Social Event

Welcome Reception
Tuesday, June 5 - 5:30 - 7:00 pm

At Tuesday’s Welcome Reception we’ll kick off the meeting with lots of great company and tasty food. You’ll mingle with old colleagues and friends and maybe make new ones! There will be more than enough food for dinner, but the reception will end early so you’ll still have time to check out Chicago’s culinary scene.

On Wednesday, ESPS appointments will also end in plenty of time so you can explore Chicago’s legendary pubs and restaurants.
