The National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA) recently awarded a scholarship for Fastener Training Week, an advanced fastener technical training program produced by the Fastener Training Institute, to Michael Abukhader, Senior Application Engineer for Shamrock International.

Scholarship applicants were evaluated based on recommendations from their employers, personal achievements, work experience, and an essay. Identifying information was redacted so that the team evaluating the applications did not know the names or employers of those applying.

Melissa Patel of Field has been elected as the 2026-2027 president of the National Fastener Distributors Association. Angela Philippart of AFC Industries will serve as vice president, Scott Camp of Atlas Distribution Services will serve as associate chair, and Ed Smith of Wurth Industry USA will remain on the Board as immediate past president.

Kevin Hochstetler of Martin Supply, George Hunt III of Brighton Best International, Tim Roberto of LindFast Solutions Group, and Brandon Wiley of NAPPCO Fastener Company have been elected to serve on the Board of Directors effective June 17, 2026.

The National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA) is honored to announce that the 2026 recipient of its Fastener Professional of the Year award is Sebastian Janas.

In her nomination of Sebastian, Jennifer Sturm stated, “Sebastian was a man of his word. Absolutely a high integrity individual that led his team by example. He was focused on relationships and improving product and process.”
