Wurth Group Donates Funds to NFDA Fastener Training Scholarship Fund

At the recent NFDA/Pac-West Joint Conference, the Wurth Group’s Deputy Chairman of the Central Managing Board, Peter Zuern, announced that Wurth is donating $10,000 to the National Fastener Distributors (NFDA) to fund scholarships for Fastener Training Week.


This donation doubles the amount of money available in 2017 for Fastener Training Week scholarships through NFDA.


“The Wurth Group is pleased to continue its long standing tradition of supporting education in the fastener industry through its membership in the NFDA,” commented Wurth Group Executive Vice President Marc Strandquist. Mr. Strandquist also currently serves as president of the NFDA.


NFDA’s scholarship program funds tuition to Fastener Training Week, an advanced technical training program offered by the Fastener Training Institute in partnership with the Industrial Fasteners Institute.


Fastener Training Week features learning labs taught by leading industry experts

  • Carmen Vertullo CFS (CarVer Consulting)
  • Salim Brahimi (IBECA Technologies)
  • Laurence Claus (NNi Training and Consulting)

The week also includes interactive exercises, quizzes to reinforce learning, and plant tours of manufacturing, secondary processes or testing facilities. Upon completion of this training and passing a final exam, attendees are eligible to receive the Certified Fastener Specialist™ (CFS) designation.
