Falcon Metal To Host 1st Manufactur-ERS:  Expense Reduction Summit

Goal: To Put More Money On Manufacturers Bottom Line

While the Carolina’s manufacturing sector is experiencing some upbeat trends in product demand, increased expenses may hamper its recovery and long-term viability. Profit pressure due to increased material prices, wages, energy and health insurance may handicap capital expansion, recruiting top talent and regaining market share as a low cost provider.  Toward that end, Falcon Metal owner Don Nowak has brought together a group of leading expense reduction professionals to share case studies on ways manufacturers have revamped their business model.  The result:  the first Maufactur-ERS (Expense Reduction Summit) will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Employers Association, 3020 West Arrowood Road, Charlotte, NC, 28273.

The Expense Reduction Summit will feature speakers and panelists who will share lessons learned as they went through the cost reduction process:

  • Don Nowak, Falcon Metal: Managing Direct Materials/Production Components
  • Gray Campbell, Expense Reduction Analysts:  Energy Costs
  • Matt McQuide, Benefit Controls:  Health Insurance
  • Brandy Milazzo, Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP:  Supply Chain Negotiation
  • Mark Will, Expense Reduction Analysts:  Maintenance, Repair, Operations (MRO) Expense Management

Inspiration for the Expense Reduction Summit came from Falcon Metal owner Don Nowak.  For more than 28 years, he and his team have helped manufacturers keep more money in their business by reducing inefficient spending in their parts departments.  However, they needed more savings: "In working with our clients, we learned they needed cost-cutting guidance in other areas. I felt the most efficient way to deliver that knowledge was to bring the "best and brightest” in the field of expense reduction together to share their experience and expertise through a case study approach.  We’ll be sharing real savings – real solutions from manufacturing companies.”

There is no charge to attend the Summit, but registration is required at For more information, contact Sheila Neisler, 704-965-4249 or
