Our members are primarily located in the greater Southern California area, stretching from San Diego in the South to Santa Barbara in the North. We have many suppliers members from other parts of the country as well. LAFA’s primary focus is on professional development and education within the fastener industry. The Mid-West Fastener Association is the oldest fastener association in th United States, having been organized in 1946. The MWFA has expanded and evolved from a small local group to become the largest association of it's kind with members from coast to coast, although the main concentration still remains in the Midwest states. As a result of its expansion, the MWFA has adjusted its programs to reflect its commitment to growth and service to the whole fastener industry. General meetings cover specific subjects and problems facing the industry as well as universal subjects of general interest to all companies. Education programs have been developed to in many facets of the industry including legislation issues. The annual Chicago Fastener Show has grown into Fastener Week in 2005 while the annual Golf Outing has become a "fastener holiday."
